The educational booklet “70 Years: Building Peace” is part of the international Young Peacemakers program run by the A.I.S.P. This booklet, intended for stakeholders in schools and colleges, presents the UN, its actions, its history, its organization, its objectives, and its peacekeeping operations. The booklet will be the basis of the conferences with young people in order to motivate them to become young peacemakers.
The cover of the educational booklet:
This program, in partnership with teachers and school principals, is mainly aimed at primary and middle school students. It lasts one year but can be renewed for up to three years. To become a young peacemaker, young people must first complete a trial period, at the end of which they will receive a blue beret with the United Nations insignia, a program membership card, a blue tie, and a Young Peacemaker passport. They must carry out at least four citizenship and peace initiatives during the school year, while demonstrating peaceful behavior and mediation skills within their school.
The international Young Peacemakers program has already begun in Russia and Ukraine. Russian and Ukrainian Young Peacemakers will be invited to the UN on May 31, 2018, for International Peacekeepers Day. They will present the program to the United Nations with a view to extending it to our country and others in the future.
